The Great Northern Running event, is set in Mickleover, Derby with the race HQ at Mickleover Sports Club on Station Road.  It’s a UKA licensed events which takes  runners around the surrounding country lanes and returns on the beautiful, former Great Northern Railway line (now disused of course). 

You can enter the 10K or 21K which is open to anybody over the age of 15 or the 2K family fun run which is open to everyone – young or old –  and is on a traffic free course.

You can run, jog or even walk the course.

The 10K run will start on Spinneybrook Way opposite the Great Northern pub; the first  half of the run is on quiet country roads and will return on the Great Northern railway line, finishing in just before the old station house.

The 21k run will start and finish on the railway line; this will be a two lap course with the first half of the lap on country lanes and the second half on the railway line.  There will be a feed/drink stations at 5km, 10km, 15k and finish line

The 2k fun run is an out and back run along the railway line and is traffic free throughout.
